Grammy Awards
Tonight was the 51st Grammy Awards. It was three and a half hours of musical splendor. There were great duets such as Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, celebrity presenters such as Jack Black and Dwayne Johnson, and outstanding solo perfomances such as Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson. I was also very pleased with the winners of the awards. I was estatic when both Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson took home a Grammy. Also I was glad that Coldplay won many of the awards it was nominated for. I thought this year's Grammy Awards was much better than last year's Grammy Awards. I did not appreciate it when Amy Winehouse swept the competition. I do not think she should have been able to win due to her past behavior and excessive drug use. She is definitely not a good role model and I was very happy that she did not participate in this year's festivities.

Hey Jameson, it's me, Taylor! I didn't get to watch the Grammys this year (whaaaahhh!) but I did enjoy your insights! I love "Viva la Vida" by Cold Play, and after seeing their picture on the lovely interweb (that's TaylorSpeak for internet...) I thought they fit the occasion. They looked like The Beatles from Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts! It amused me greatly. I'm not a huge fan of Miley Cyrus though (icky!). I do like Carrie Underwood (I know she's your favorite!) and Jennifer Hudson. You made a very good point about Amy Winehouse participating in the awards ceremony though. I don't think she should have been allowed to either. She's got a great voice, but the whole paparazzi thing with her and the drugs and drinking and divorce schtick shouldn't be condoned. By granting those awards the press is basically saying "Here, you can take all kinds of mind-altering drugs and be drunk and violent and be a great success!" Someone aught to lock her up...

Remember...many druggies in the past have been big winners...most of whom will attribute their "genius" to taking drugs...ew! Well, I guess that automatically removes them from the "positive role model" category...LOL
